Travel with mobile data

Qatar is often a short stopover as well as a longer destination in its own right. From Hamad International Airport, travellers may head to a hotel in Doha, a meeting in West Bay, the museums and waterfront around the Corniche or onward to Lusail. Mobile data can help you confirm a transfer, check a reservation and use a map before a hotel's Wi-Fi is available. The eSIM provides a digital data plan for Qatar on a compatible, unlocked phone. If your journey includes another country after the stopover, check its coverage separately rather than assuming a Qatar plan follows you across the border.

Coverage and local networks

The product's Technical Specs list Ooredoo 5G and Vodafone 5G as partner networks. Network availability can vary by handset, location and time, and 5G is not guaranteed at every address. Urban areas, large indoor venues and roads outside Doha can provide different reception. Check the current specification for this exact product instead of assuming that a general promise of high-speed service covers every event venue or stretch of desert road. Save the address of your next stop and any event ticket offline in case connectivity is temporarily unavailable. An airport stopover with a tight onward connection is easier to manage when the transport and accommodation details are already saved.

Using data during your trip

For a brief layover, a small allowance may be enough to message a driver, navigate around Doha and retrieve a booking. A longer business visit can involve video meetings, frequent document downloads and sharing a connection with a laptop, which use considerably more data. Tourist days around Souq Waqif, Katara and the Corniche have another pattern: maps, tickets and photo uploads. Check the Hotspot entry in this Unlimited plan's Technical Specs. If supported by your phone and plan, connected devices share the same connection. Check the plan's speed-reduction and fair-use terms, especially for video, uploads and cloud backups. Choose based on the activities you expect rather than assuming every day of the trip has the same data requirement.

Choosing and installing your eSIM

Choose the Unlimited plan duration that covers your full trip, including arrival and departure. Select validity that covers the entire stay, including arrival and departure days. While connected to dependable Wi-Fi, install with the one-tap link if the order includes one and your phone supports it. You can instead scan the QR code or follow the supplied manual details. Check the order's guidance for when the plan becomes usable, and select this eSIM for mobile data at the appropriate point. Keep a copy of the hotel address and the installation instructions outside the email inbox for a smooth arrival.

Calls, messaging and plan details

This plan provides data, not a new Qatari phone number, normal SMS or voice-call minutes. Keep your original SIM if you need its number for authentication or incoming calls; any roaming charges on that line are separate. Internet messaging and calls use mobile data where the relevant apps are available, and access to particular services may depend on local conditions. Confirm that the phone is carrier-unlocked and eSIM-compatible before purchase. The Supported Countries field and Technical Specs on the current product page are the final reference for coverage, networks and hotspot support for this plan.

Extending your plan

You can top up this Unlimited eSIM by adding extra days of validity, not GB.
